PoTM: Early Dawning

I made this photo – which is one of my favorites, as it often happens with unplanned shots – as we were leaving a hotel in London, UK to return home.

The night before had been quite a bit rainy, but that late december sunrise was bright and misty, with a stark contrast between the coldness of the awakening city and the warmth of the rising sun.

The facades of the short buildings in the foreground create a perfect juxtaposition with the ethereal silhouettes of the City’s skyscrapers in the distance.
