I’ve been publishing my photos on this website for quite a while now – almost two years in fact.
One day I noticed I had gotten to about 2,700 photos. It’s a bit too much, in my opinion. I published new images almost every day, so it didn’t take much time to become a bit of a mess – just like chaotic undergrouth in the woods.
It was unsustainable and, for the most part, not very useful because the majority of photos I published were buried too deep to be viewed by anyone, plus the blog wasn’t really a blog because I seldom wrote anything to accompany the images.
So, enter my new website. It’s mostly the same, but with more focus on being a portfolio with a selection of what I think are my best shots. Images will come and go over time as I make more photographs with the intent of keeping their number – and thus their usability – to an optimal level.
I will use this blog to publish articles on photography topics instead of using it as a mere photo stream.
I will also keep using social media to publish my photos.
It will be fun!
On a last note – because the times we live in are what they are – this website is still (proudly) powered by WordPress, but it’s transformed to static form and published using a CDN. No more WordPress exposed on the public Internet. This basically reduces to zero the security attack surface, so I can focus more on photography and less on updating servers and software packages.
