2023 has been a fantastic year in terms of travel opportunities as well as photography.
With my wife Vale, I have been to:
- London, UK
- Val d’Aosta, Italy
- Cinque Terre, Liguria, Italy
- Edinburgh, Scotland, UK
- Porto, Portugal
- Tuscany, Italy
- Val Gardena, South Tyrol, Italy
- London, UK (again).
We also visited many other places nearby home and went for hiking days in the Alps in Val Seriana and Val Brembana.
Google Maps tells me I’ve walked 697km, which is 37% less than 2022, for some reason.
Let’s see if we can improve in 2024.
As for photography, I have:
- Saved 5588 images (I’ve shot more, but I delete some of my worst photos)
- Edited 2880 images or about 51% of the saved images
- Rated 590 images 4 or 5 stars, or about 21% of edited images and 11% of saved images.
52% of my photos are horizontal, 48% are vertical.
My most used lenses are the 14-140mm f/3.5-5.6 and the 25mm f/1.7.
I’ve sold my Lumix G9 and my 20mm f/1.7 and bought the Lumix G9 Mark II and the 100-300mm f/4-5.6.
I’m still editing the last images from 2023, so these numbers might vary a little, but one last value is very important. The images that I’m very proud of are about 50, which is a great number in absolute terms, but it’s interesting to note that it’s less than 1% of the total shots that I’ve saved in the first place.
My goal for 2024 is to capture less images and be more selective, exactly how I suggested before.
