I created My Own Place just by sheer luck. Well, and the ability to see.
My wife and I were in South Tyrol, Italy for a few days and in that particular instance we were driving to visit Col Raiser. At one point, we needed to fetch something from the trunk so I pulled over where there was a bit of space.
Photography has changed the way I navigate the world: I always keep my eyes open for potential photographs, even when I don’t have my camera.
Of course that day I did have my camera. The ethereal light, the mountains in the background and those two solitary trees really begged to be captured!
So, if you’re like me and love South Tyrol – Alto Adige in Italian – this is one of the most apt shots to display a bit of that love on your wall.
